Person Centred Psychotherapy is centred around you, the client, meaning there is no one size fits all approach. My goal as your counsellor is to walk alongside you on your journey of self exploration, to empower you to find the answers for yourself, by encouraging a deeper level of self reflection. Like a spiral, we will work together to get to the core of whatever is holding you back.

Building on your own self awareness means that you will feel more resilient and confident in facing life's challenges yourself in the long run, and less reliant on external reassurance or guidance. That's not to say the journey is an easy one. Talking therapy can be very taxing emotionally, but so can destructive coping mechanisms and unnecessary pressure we place on ourselves trying to hold it all together. 

At Haven of Hope Therapies, you will have a safe haven, where you don't have to be anything for anyone. You can be the realest, raw and unseen before version of yourself in the knowledge that you be fully accepted, heard and valued.

About me

The therapeutic relationship is such an important part of the process that I feel it can be helpful to understand more about who you'll be working alongside.

My name is Jess, I qualified with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy: Professional Practice as a Person Centred Psychotherapist, and I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I have worked in a variety of settings and with a diverse range of clients; children, young people and adults, during my time studying and since graduating. Opportunities that have provided me with a wealth of deepened understanding and knowledge, and as such strengthening my own practice.

I truly believe counselling is my passion and take tremendous pride and joy from having the privilege of witnessing others find themselves again! 

I cannot and will not promise you the journey will always feel easy or smooth-sailing, you may even want to give up at times, but I can promise it is most definitely not only worth it, but something you are deserving of experiencing for yourself!
